At SciMeTech international journal, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency. A conflict of interest arises when professional judgment concerning a primary interest (such as the validity of research) could be influenced by a secondary interest (such as financial gain or personal relationships). All participants in the publication process—authors, reviewers, and editors—must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

For Authors

Authors are required to disclose all financial and non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of their research. These disclosures must include:

  • Funding: Sources of funding for the research, including grants, sponsorships, and institutional support.
  • Personal Relationships: Any relationships with organizations or individuals that could be perceived as influencing the work.
  • Competing Interests: Any competing financial, professional, or personal interests relevant to the manuscript.

A statement of conflicts of interest (or the absence thereof) must be included in the manuscript and will appear in the published article. This promotes transparency and fosters trust with readers and the scientific community.

For Reviewers

Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that may compromise their ability to provide an unbiased review. If a reviewer:

  • Has a personal or professional relationship with the author(s).
  • Has a financial interest in the subject of the manuscript.
  • Has previously collaborated with the author(s).

They should recuse themselves from the review process. Transparency ensures that the peer review process remains impartial and trustworthy.

For Editors

Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their ability to manage manuscripts fairly. This includes:

  • Relationships with authors or institutions connected to the manuscript.
  • Financial interests related to the subject matter of the manuscript.

Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist. The journal may assign an alternative editor to oversee the review process in such cases.

Disclosure Statement

All disclosures of conflicts of interest must be submitted alongside the manuscript, review, or editorial decision. The editorial team will evaluate these disclosures to ensure compliance with the journal's policies and maintain the integrity of the publication process.

Reporting Undisclosed Conflicts

If you suspect that a conflict of interest has not been disclosed, please report it to the editorial team at m.eddabbah@scimetech.com. All reports will be treated confidentially and investigated thoroughly.
